Depending on how long you’ve been following along with us on Adult Time’s journey – or even just this month’s series of articles spotlighting our history and origins – you might be sick by now of hearing us repeat our slogan “Porn Done Differently”. But we just can’t help ourselves! We’re proud of all the ways that we strive to make each of our projects unique and special, whether it’s an ongoing channel, limited series, film, studio partnership, creator collab, or who knows what else.
For series where we have a tried-and-true recipe in place, like Mommy’s Boy, Fantasy Massage, or Femboyish, “done differently” might mean finding every way possible to hit that sweet spot for the core fantasy that audiences are looking for in their porn. Realistic family banter and backstory, extended sensual massage-to-seduction sequences, or deceptively believable fem-presenting bottoms are some such ways where we look to differentiate ourselves from other players in the market and make our content matter to subscribers.
“Done differently” might also mean establishing best practices in our operations that go above and beyond industry standards. We recently expounded on how we handle consent discussions behind the scenes of our productions, as well as how we took ownership to establish responsible safety precautions during the period of uncertainty caused by the 2020 pandemic. We want to be a role model for positive change within adult entertainment, and hopefully inspire others to do the same, by not just clearing the bar but raising the bar when it comes to professional conduct.
And then, “Porn Done Differently” can also encapsulate that spirit of innovation, adventurism, and exploration that drives us forward as a brand. From technological advancements like the Choose Your Angle video player and VR integration added to our platform, to bold content endeavors the likes of which you wouldn’t see on any other site like an 80s retro throwback anthology, a biopic about one woman’s transition journey, or a mecha vs. kaiju hentai tour de force, we are always on the lookout for new ways to live our motto via the decisions we take as a company and the projects we choose to pursue.
Even so, we recognize the need to keep the chaos contained – we can’t just try new things all the time, everything, everywhere, all at once! There’s a time and a place for experimentation and pioneering, and not all our series or studio brands are going to be the right fit for each unusual or unorthodox idea we want to try. And while we often launch new channels for series and films all the time, this approach doesn’t work nearly as well when it comes to releasing several content experiments in short succession, causing unnecessary clutter and confusion for navigating the site.
And so, in late 2021, we created a catch-all channel for every content experiment, pilot, and prototype to be aggregated in one place. The Adult Time Pilots section. Here, subscribers can look forward to any stand-alone concepts that may or may not ever get a sequel made or get upgraded to an ongoing series. Some of these concepts even have had concepts shot across multiple sexual preferences, to gauge the interest from different audiences on our platform.
We’ve already had several success stories born out of this initiative, such as Accidental Gangbang, Lez Be Bad, MILF Overload, and Forbidden Seductions, all of which started as pilots but received additional episodes thanks to audience reception! And who’s to say – you never know which pilot might get revived next for another go-around. Or what wacky new idea we might want to test next. That’s part of the joy of this approach, is to provide members with some interesting and engaging content not tied to any existing brands or audience expectations. It truly is a playground for both us and our members to play in.
