If you’ve taken a stroll through Adult Time recently, you might have noticed something unusual to the industry but indispensable to us – a navigation feature emphasizing our commitment to sexual inclusivity that is baked directly into how the platform functions. We call it the ‘Sexual Preferences Center,’ a handy easy-to-use dashboard allowing users to customize their browsing experience to explore our diverse range of adult content in the manner of their choosing, opting in to any preferences and sites they like while filtering out those they don’t.
Many sites out there have similar functionalities, some being great and others less so, but one thing that makes ours unique is that we never wanted to exclude or segregate anyone, no matter their tastes. You see, most other sites will have separate sections for straight and gay content that users can switch between with a click of a button – but that wasn’t good enough for our needs. We wanted our brand to be welcoming to everyone equally, providing the exact same customer journey for one member as for another. Our philosophy is that if we want word-of-mouth to spread about Adult Time, it’s important for the platform and content to offer members the opportunity to bond over shared experiences.
For example, let’s say a straight friend wanted to talk about Vixen to his gay friend who was only familiar with Sean Cody… They would be speaking two completely different languages to each other. But in this hypothetical scenario, we wanted both friends to be able to have a meaningful conversation about Adult Time and understand each other completely. Historically, the adult industry has kept gay and straight content – and by extension its viewers – in separate lanes, but times are changing, and so are we. As sexual fluidity and audience tastes are broadening, so too should the ways that customers can navigate, watch, and discuss whatever porn they damn well feel like with no obstacles or judgment.
With our preferences center in place, and through our efforts to encourage content exploration and sexual self-discovery through Adult Time, we have managed to spot some amazing and inspiring changes in viewership patterns over the years. Series like Transfixed and Oopsie! have gotten many testimonials from fans telling us that it was their wake-up call to trans temptations they never knew they had. Bisexual bonus episodes on traditionally straight channels like Pure Taboo and Modern-Day Sins have gained more traction than we ever would have seen a few years ago. Member comments are starting to reflect a more diverse array of interests, with many of our male stars getting as many compliments and adoration as our female stars nowadays.
And so, the time finally came and the stars aligned for us to begin producing gay original content at long last. With over 15 years of knowledge and know-how in the gay market through having partnered with iconic brands like Next Door Studios and Falcon Studios, we knew we were ready to tackle this last bastion of what was missing in our offerings to make Adult Time a truly universally recognized brand. In 2022, we set the gears in motion to create Heteroflexible, our gay porn imprint under the Adult Time umbrella. The goal? To cater to the gay-curious market and serve as “gateway” gay content for questioning and open-minded members within our ecosystem who might want to broaden their horizons. The project was not without its challenges, especially trying to strike a balance between appealing to mainstream gay porn consumers as well as those more sexually adventurous souls – but as Heteroflexible’s showrunner, I can confidently say we’re onto something unique and exciting.
What is Heteroflexible?
Heteroflexible is not just a studio; it’s a celebration of sexual diversity. The name itself embodies the essence – the sexual behavior of someone who identifies as straight but occasionally engages in same-sex experiences. Our tagline sums it up: “Gay porn for the straight guy.”
Breaking Taboos with Femboyish:
Our biggest gamble and potential jackpot in the Heteroflexible lineup is ‘Femboyish.’ It’s not just another series; it’s the first professionally shot product on the market that spotlights femboy attraction. For those unfamiliar, ‘femboys’ are male-identifying performers breaking social norms with their gender-nonconforming and traditionally feminine presentation. It’s an exploration into a sub-genre of self-expression and sexuality that’s typically been limited to social media or amateur accounts, but we’re bringing it to the forefront with an unrivaled level of professional polish.
The key to success in ‘Femboyish’ lies in meticulous casting, styling, sexual chemistry, and cinematic camerawork. It’s a delicate dance that took a lot of effort to get just right, but the response from the Adult Time community has exceeded even our wildest expectations, giving us confidence to move forward with this bold new content.
Appealing to the Curious:
At the heart of Heteroflexible is a commitment to appeal to a gay-curious audience. We’re veering away from the chiseled hunks and burly bearded DILFs that populate so much of the gay porn market, and focusing on femboys, twinks, and clean-cut jocks that have androgynous appeal to hetero and homosexual watchers alike. Series such as “Jerk Buddies”, “Daddy’s Boy”, and “Straight, But…” that lean heavily into storytelling of straight seductions, first gay encounters, and youthful experimentation offer a tantalizingly relatable POV for straight-ish audiences dreaming of their own future first-times. Our approach aims to pique the interest of any man who’s ever considered fooling around with another guy, and invite those who want to explore that side of themselves to let their fantasies run wild with us.
Growing An Audience:
While we acknowledge that a significant portion of our member base leans towards straight porn, we’re not letting this be a setback towards investing in the future. Yes, our gay production budget for Heteroflexible might be smaller (at least for now) compared to a lot of gay porn competitors out there, but we are committed to the long-term of building fan interest and loyalty over time. We firmly believe that with the foundations we’ve built into our platform, and with the passion and determination of our staff and crews who all want to see our gay content flourish, we’re going to witness our gay, bi, and curious audienceship get bigger and bigger before you know it!
